Work directed health support programs for unemployed persons in need of social welfare support
Many of those seeking social welfare support are unable to provide for themselves because of unemployment. To increase the chances for persons on, or in need of social welfare support, to achieve a paid job, the Stockholm labour market administration offers work directed health programs. Such programs provide individually based health and life style support, for example by giving advice how to initiate a physical training program. The question is whether there is evidence that such programs are efficient in improving participant’s activity and facilitating their chances of achieving a job.
Question
What evidential support is there that work directed health support programs, given individually or in groups, increase the activity and the chances of obtaining a paid job for unemployed persons in need of, or receiving, social welfare support?
