Non-invasive respiration in patients with covid-19 respiratory failure during hospitalization

SBU Enquiry Service has responded to questions from the National Board of Health and Welfare concerning transmission risk end effect of non-invasive ventilation in patients with covid-19 and respiratory failure during hospitalization.

• Risk for transmission of viral infection during treatment with non-invasive ventilation using CPAP or BiPAP
• Effectiveness of non-invasive ventilation in the treatment of acute respiratory failure due to coronavirus
