SBU Evidence map

systematically evaluates the quality of systematic reviews in a particular field for the purpose of identifying reliable evidence and gaps in scientific knowledge. SBU Evidence Maps are generated with the help of experts in the field. Prior to publication, maps are examined by independent experts, as well as our quality and priority group and SBU’s Scientific Advisory Committees.

SBU has identified and mapped systematic reviews focusing on the effectiveness of various non-pharmaceutical interventions to reduce the spread of COVID-19, Influenza, SARS, MERS or Ebola. The systematic reviews are presented in an interactive map (evidence map) with filter options for type of infection, type of intervention, risk of bias level, year of literature search, and absence or presence of primary studies. SBU has not assessed the certainty of evidence for individual non-pharmaceutical interventions.

The interactive map provides a tool with relevance for authorities, decision-makers, researchers, and research funders in the field.

A manuscript is in preparation for submission to a peer-reviewed journal.
