Most likely, your web browser offers the possibility to change text size and to customize the appearance of text and colors. To change font size when using Internet Explorer on a PC, select the View menu at the top of the screen (if the View menu is hidden, press the Alt key), scroll down and select the Text size option. Alternatively, if your mouse has a scroll wheel, you can zoom in our out the entire website if pressing the Ctrl key while scrolling the mouse wheel.
This website uses standard document formats (for example, html, Adobe Acrobat). If your computer does not have software to open particular formats, you can download file readers from Adobe.
Keyboard navigation is an alternative to the mouse for browsing websites.
Use the arrow keys to scroll pages up, down or sideways. You can also use the Page Up and Page Down keys.
Use the tab key to move between links. Press return or enter to activate a link. When the tab key is used alone, the direction of movement between links is from left to right, top to bottom. If the tab key is held down simultaneously with the shift key, the direction is reversed, ie, right to left, bottom to top.
Use the backspace key to go back to the previous page.
Speaking browsers read text on html pages or pdf files out loud. SBU does not currently provide a speaking browser on this website. For information and advice on speaking browsers, contact national organizations that advise on add-on products for personal computers and browsers.
Adobe Acrobat reader version 6 upwards has a read-out-loud facility for pdf documents. From the View menu, select Read out Loud. See Adobe help resource center for more information.
The website is designed for a 1024x768 screen resolution. If you experience the problem of overlapping text, the resolution on your monitor is set too low.
